Junior Software Developer Role

ThinkEngine is looking for a driven and dynamic Software Developer to join our award-winning team. You’ll be part of our exciting and growing operations team, who work with our amazing, global clients on a daily basis. ThinkEngine is a leading digital marketing and technology agency with exciting plans for the future.
At ThinkEngine we see things differently and offer great flexibility to our team. The role is hybrid with three days per week working from our new state-of-the-art office in Shedfield, Southampton and the remaining two days of the week remote based (working from home).
Our B2B clients mainly work across Financial Services, Property/Real Estate, Technology & Sustainability. Our clients can vary in size, from SMEs, to major groups with revenues in excess of $4bln.
We are looking for a driven and hard-working individual to come on-board to assist us with no and low code technology development activities, learn new skills, gain invaluable industry experience and be an integral member of the team. We’re keen to hear from innovative and talented No-code Software and Web Application Developer/Designers to help build out some of the coolest platforms, technology and Webapps around. The successful candidate will primarily focus on developing web applications using Glide & Softr, and will also have the opportunity to extensively work with AI technologies too.

As a growing team, it is crucial that you are able to work confidently on your own (remotely), but also as part of a team everyday. You must be enthusiastic to learn and develop, with a self-motivating attitude. You also have the choice to work in our offices should you wish.
Duties and responsibilities:
Develop no and low code web applications using platforms such as Glide & Softr
Understand and implement web languages including Java, JSON and RESTful APIs
Understand how to setup and configure a database and SQL platforms (and associated platforms such as PostgreSQL, MySQL etc)
Be familiar and have experience with no-code automation tools such as Zapier, Make etc
Collaborate on design to create visually appealing and user-friendly interfaces
Test and improve device usability and responsiveness
Stay updated with emerging web development technologies and best practices
Understand workflow systems to build clever logic which drives great web app experiences
Contribute to the implementation of AI technologies within web client applications and projects
Project plan and scope development cycles
Support with internal projects to help ThinkEngine grow
It is crucial that you have a good understanding of technology so we can help you to improve and learn on your current knowledge. We are looking for a dynamic individual who wants to put their ideas out there whilst listening to others and working as a team to improve our client’s tech and ensure that we hold our value to all clients. You will be joining at an exciting time with the recent emergence of our Cogs Software, you will be key in the next phase of development to improve this product further!
Desirable Skills and Attributes:
IT literate – confident with Microsoft/Mac,
Proficiency in developing web applications using no-code platforms such as Glide & Softr
Strong understanding of web languages including Java, JSON, and APIs
Proven track record of designing and implementing user-friendly interfaces
Ability and willingness to learn, enhance, and implement AI technologies
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Strong communication and teamwork abilities
You are a proactive individual with a ‘can-do’ attitude
Trustworthy and loyal team player who works in the best interests of the business
Put your ideas across and not be afraid to challenge us – we don’t mind!
Dependable and structured, with the ability to build and sustain relationships

37.5 Hours per week – Full Time
£24,000 per annum
